2009 Carnival Royalty...
Mon 4th May - Carnival Queen Crowning.
Teignmouth's 2009 royalty was crowned by Mayor Fred Tooley in the triangle today, luckily the rain held off.
The girls were treated to a fabulous tea party at The Pickwick with the mayor before being taken up on stage to be introduced to the crowd and given their sashes and flowers.

2009 Royalty Float
THEME – 'Fairies in the garden'.
In 1916 two young girls went down to the bottom of their garden and took photographs using their father’s quarter plate camera. When the plates were developed in their father’s dark room there were fairies on the prints. This story is known as the Cottingley Fairies.
The 2009 Royalty float is our recreation of that magical story, fairies in the garden.
